Frodingham Dollshouses

Select a beautiful hand crafted Dollshouse in 1:12th or 1:24th scale from the Frodingham Dollshouse Collection.

Each Frodingham Dollshouse is lovingly created by John Pickard at his workshop in the heart of the Shropshire countryside.

Built to the highest standard the basic stucture of the dollshouse is fashioned in quality birch ply. Doors, window frames, floors and stairs are painstakingly hand built from a variety of hardwoods. The floors of each dollhouse often encorporate authentic materials such as slate and Victorian quarry tile effect. Exterior walls are covered with a mix to simulate limestone.

avoid using paint or stain on his dolls houses whenever possible, preferring instead to use different woods to achieve the colours and tones needed.

For example, the dollshouse roof tiles might be made of Nemasu wood with ridge tiles of Teak. The doors might be Mahogany or Teak while the interior beams are usually of Iroco.
